Migrate Pronghorn Volunteer Drive

Migrate Pronghorn SafelyVolunteer and grab this opportunity to help Pronghorn migrate safely on September 29 at the Grand Teton National Park. Meeting place will be in the Gris Ventre Junction (East Side) at 8:15am

The team will carpool to the North Elk Ranch, which is approximately 2 miles south of Moran.  Transportation will be 30 minutes.  NPCA and Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation will work together to modify a fence on the south side of the North Elk Ranch in Grand Teton National Park.  The corridor is located in the “Path of the Pronghorn”, which is an important seasonal migration corridor between the Grand Teton National Park and Upper Green River Valley.

The pursuit will be a bit challenging for the volunteers. Since the barbed wire fence needed for cattle containment has been a deadly obstacle for a long time, the daily movement of the pronghorn living in this area is restricted.  Hence, volunteers will remove the bottom barbed strand and replace the top barbed strand with smooth wire along 1.6 miles of fence.

If you are interested in volunteering, you can sign up at the http://www.npca.org/ or RSVP to mquinn@npca.org.
